Scott Haefner, director/curator of Old Fort Hunter, New York State historic site, will be the guest speaker at the August 3rd meeting. His topic is the history of the Mohawk Valley as transportation corridor over the years. This water highway has been fought over by the Dutch, French and English over centuries for control of the American continent. From earliest Indian pathways through turnpikes, canals, railroads, and superhighways, his talk will cover the importance of this corridor to both New York State and the nation. Please join us at the Bleecker Town Hall on 3 August at 6:45pm for Scott's talk.
