The October meeting of the Bleecker Historical Society will feature chain saw wood carver Sara Winter of Bleecker as speaker. Winter, a member of the “Chain Saw Chix”, creates chain saw sculptures and competes in contests in the eastern US. She will display some of her sculptures and exhibit and discuss various chain saws that are used in her work. Winter was featured as one of four Adirondack chain saw artists in the August 2015 issue of “Adirondack Life” magazine. Her work can be viewed on her Facebook page NorthStarSculpures.
The meeting will be held Monday, October 5th at 6:45 pm at the BleeckerTown Hall at 575 County Highway 112. Winter’s program will follow a brief business meeting. Meetings are open to the public. Call 725-6784 for additional information.
